Faith vs Works

For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
– James 2:26

Jesus’ apostles didn’t hide their faith. The believers of the first and second centuries risked everything to share the teachings of Jesus. Many were martyred, yet the Gospel spread like wildfire. Their faith wasn’t silent—it was embodied.
If someone is a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, their actions should reflect that belief. Jesus said, “By this everyone will know that you are My disciples—if you love one another” (John 13:35). Love is the mark. Love is the movement. If we love others, we’ll want good for them. We’ll help those who are weak or unable to help themselves.
Paul echoes this in 2 Corinthians 13:5: “Examine yourselves to see whether you are living in faith. Test yourselves.”
And Romans 2:6–8 reminds us: we will be judged not only by what we do—but by what we fail to do.
As Christians, our desire from the Holy Spirit should be to help others, to do what is right—not what is popular. Because what’s right is not always popular, and what’s popular is not always right.
