False teachings

1 John 4:1 – 6

– verse 1:
Test the spirits like in Acts 17: 11 – 12. Test means to prove, try to examine. The same Greek word “dokimazeta” refers to testing with fire.

– verse 2:
Know the Spirit of God (Acts 19: 13 – 16)
The spirit/demon knew Jesus, but considered(close examination) of Paul. The Greek word “epistama” means the demon tested Paul and his teachings.

– verse 4:
Jesus has overcome the world. We have the Holy Spirit to help against false teachings. The Holy Spirit teaches all things with the anointing; keeps us from false teachings (1 John 2: 20, 27).

– verse 5 – 6:
Those of God’s teaches God’s word. Those not of God do not understand such things (1 Corinthians 2:14) and are natural-unspirited.

2 Timothy 2:15

We must study God’s word to be able to know what’s in at and use it effective, so we won’t be led astry.
