Patience

Patience/Endurance

Philippians 4:8 – 13

Focus on what is. Other such things like food, clothing, shelter should not be concerned about. This life is temporary. We will not be on this Earth long. Worrying about such things will not add a second to our lives.

Saint Paul said the he was content in is condition. The Philippians were concerned for Paul, but he assured them that he was content in his situation. His comfort and strength came from Jesus Christ. The Greek word for content is “autarkes” and actually means “self-sufficient”. Someone who dispassionately accepts whatever circumstances arise.

Matthew 6:25 – 27

Life is more than what we see here. All we see will come to and end, but what is invisible is eternal. Do not focus on what others have that you crave. Instead be happy for what others have. God will give us all we need for all our situations (Philippians 4:13).

1 Timothy 6:3 – 10

Be satisfied/content with what you have. God told David that if he wanted more all he had to do was ask (2 Samuel 12:1 – 8). If we go after our own lusts and desires without the will or blessings of God we are asking for destruction. Rely on God and place your trust in Him. Be content and know that your trials are only making you stronger. With Jesus we can get through any and everything.
