For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not for woe! Plans to give you a future full of hope.
When you call me, when you go to pray to me, I will listen to you. When you look for me, you will find me.
Yes, when you seek me with all your heart.
– Jeremiah 29:11-13
There is infinitely more to our existence than our body of flesh and blood. We are all children of the All-Mighty Creator.
As powerful as God is, He could easily force humanity to worship and praise Him. However, He instead gave us all freewill.
We are free to live our lives as we see fit; just keep in mind we will be held accountable for our actions after this life is over.
Living in world today is both a blessing and a hindrance. We live in an era of scientific and technological breakthroughs.
It has never been easier to communicate with people across the entire world.
Medicine has eradicated many illnesses and diseases that were considered unstoppable centuries ago. Information is at our fingertips;
our smart phones have more processing power than the Apollo missions.
Yet, with all this wonderful stuff people (especially millennials) are turning away from God rather than seeking Him out.
God knows each of us better than we know ourselves. He wants nothing but the best for us, but we don’t always wait for Him to act.
We rush into situations that should never have occurred. Isaiah tells us that those who wait on the Lord are blessed (30:18).
Instead of rushing into something, go to God in prayer. Seek Him and His unfathomable wisdom. God does not force Himself upon us,
He wants each of us to come to Him by our own volition.
In our every day lives, people are in such a rush to get from point A to point B.
Granted not all states and countries are the same, but for the most part people live their lives in a rush.
We’re too busy or occupied to hear or see God calling to us. Jeremiah says that the Lord has plans of a hopeful future for YOU, for everyone.
How can we follow Him with all the static of our lives? Slow down, take some deep breaths and clear your mind. Go to the Lord in prayer;
spend time with Him. Don’t worry about work, or bills, or what’s for dinner; just open your heart and soul to God.
The intensity of our daily lives isn’t unique to just the present. Distractions and obligations have kept us from God since the time of the Great Fall.
It’s important that we spend time with the one who lives outside of time. David stated it best when he wrote,
Be still and confess that I am God (Psalms 46:11). Don’t let the distractions of the world keep you from what God has planned for you.
