There are numerous warnings in the Bible of the danger of being two-minded. Being of two-minds is like being unsure of either choice. A person has doubts in the power of the the Lord and thus is not committed to believing and they falter back to their sinful ways. A true believer has complete trust in the Lord regardless of His answer.
James wrote the we should ask in faith; to really believe in the Lord (James 1:2-8). If that’s not the case, that person’s prayer will not be acknowledged by God.
This doesn’t mean that when a Christian prays, they will receive what they prayed for. Some times the answer the Lord gives us is simply “no”, or perhaps “not right now”. The Holy Spirit will assist in our prayers so to have us avoid asking for the wrong reasons(James 4:3).
Listen to the Holy Spirit when you approach the Throne of God in prayer. Clear your mind and approach His holy presence. Allow the Holy Spirit to work through you to pray the way we should(Romans 8:26-27). Be of one mind – the Lord Jesus Christ. For He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
