But now, thus says the LORD,
who created you, O Jacob, and formed
you, O Israel:
Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name: you are mine.
– Isaiah 43:1,2
Fear is a powerful emotion. It can paralyze us, hold us back, and keep us from stepping into the fullness of what God has called us to. Think of how many opportunities we’ve missed because of fear—or its quiet companion, doubt.
If the apostles had surrendered to their fear of persecution, the Gospel might never have spread across the world. But they didn’t. They trusted the One who called them.
It’s only human to fear the unknown. But the Lord says, “You are Mine.” He is our Creator, our Redeemer, our Protector. He has called each of us by name—claiming every believer as His own.
Jesus addressed this directly in Matthew 10:28:
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
This isn’t a call to terror—it’s a call to trust. To reframe our fear. To remember that our Heavenly Father watches over us. When fear rises, pray. Remember: the Lord will never leave or forsake His chosen.
